Position Description:

This position is located in Reno, NV and the ideal candidate will have knowledge of gas, wood, and pellet stove installation.  This employee will report to our office every morning to be given the installation schedule for the day and load up assigned company trucks with fireplaces, stove pipe, and all other equipment they may need.  Installers will spend their days traveling from job to job in their company trucks installing fireplaces throughout Northern Nevada and California.  Our installers work in teams of 2-3 people Monday-Friday, with occasional optional Saturdays, and report directly to one of the owners of the company.

 

Essential Job Functions: 

·         Work with another individual(s) to install electric, gas, wood, and pellet stoves/inserts in new construction and existing homes

·         Install pipe from connection point to stove

·         Develop an in-depth understanding of all hearth products and the installation process

·         Maintain superior communication other employees and customers to insure installations are completed timely and meet quality standards

·         Complete job specific paperwork when necessary

·         Read and understand documents related to safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and installation manuals

·         Communicate with builders and residential customers professionally

·         Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

·         Must be able to lift 50+ pounds

·         Physical abilities of excessive bending, kneeling, sitting, standing, climbing, roof work, and use of power tools

·         Be able to work individually or with other team members and effectively communicate with other staff

·         Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record

·         Must be able to pass a drug test

·         OSHA 10 certification preferred

·         Hands on mechanical experience a plus

·         Prior installation experience preferred but not required

Job Posting – Gas Appliance Engineer

Hearth Products Controls Co. (HPC) is a distributor of gas log repair components as well as a manufacturer of outdoor gas appliances, water features and accessories for over 40 years. We produce various shapes and sizes of gas fire pit inserts distributed in North America and abroad that offer numerous forms of control technologies. Our office and manufacturing facility are located in Dayton, Ohio employing ~50 associates. Although the foundation of company was built in the Hearth industry, we also cover Pool & Spa, Landscape, Hardscape and other industries.

JOB SUMMARY:

This in-house position is located at our facility in Dayton, Ohio with minimal travel requirements. This position reports to the Engineering Manager. This person will develop new products and make improvements to our existing product lines.

 

 Abilities/Skills/Knowledge

  • Develop new products and make improvements on existing products as established and prioritized by HPC.
  • Ensure all required product safety testing, passing industry recognized safety tests for gas appliances.
  • Ensure on-time completion of accurate and high quality gas appliance projects within agreed upon budget.
  • Develop and manage project schedules related to new and existing product designs.
  • Document product designs by preparing bills of materials, cost analyses, drawings, and engineering changes.
  • Develop product specifications and all associated project documentation.
  • Innovation of new products and development of new technologies.
  • Perform life test on existing products.
  • Support production, customer support technicians and customers as needed.
  • Evaluate customer returns and or in house defects as required.

 

Education/Training

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Formal technical training in hearth products preferred.
  • Strong written and communication skills needed to write technical / functional specifications, test plans and other documentation.
  • Creating and document BOM’s.
  • Hands on Mechanical experience a plus
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of practical problems.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and find solutions.
  • Solid communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong technical problem solving skills.
  • 3-D modeling experience

Job Posting – National Sales Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

This in-house position is located at our facility in Dayton, Ohio with travel requirements to tradeshows and customer sites at times. Reporting to the President, this person will oversee the communication, training and performance of our outside Sales Rep team across the US and Canada. The position will continue to grow our dealer network and more importantly support and service the existing dealers. The development of sales and marketing strategies are an important role including advertising, tradeshows and sales collateral.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Meet or exceed all sales and marketing objectives as established by the business plan.

· Work within HPC standards and values- this includes a high level of professionalism and very strong customer service.

· Develop plans to increase sales and maintain margins working with the Management team.

· Forecasting and preparation of sales and marketing plans in correlation with the company objectives

· Ensure that effective working relationships are established within the organized structure of the company, Sales Reps and customers.

· Monitor the performance of our Sale Representatives to ensure needs are met.

· Establish and maintain all necessary external (customer and trade) relationships, consistent with the objectives, operating philosophy and desired image of the company.

· Establish marketing objectives and pricing structures in cooperation with the Management team. Perform those activities relating to sales and marketing development in such a way as to increase sales volume necessary to support the businesses and attain established sales goals and objectives.

· Supervise trade shows arrangements including set-up of booths, staffing for the duration of the event, tear downs and storage of all display materials.

· Communicates pertinent product, policy, and promotional information to all appropriate parties

· Contribute to a positive work environment focusing on Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.

 · Additional related responsibilities as may be required.

 

AUTHORITIES

· The National Sales Manager is delegated complete authority to accomplish the responsibilities, duties, goals and objectives that have been established for this position.

· Decide customer discounts based on volume, distribution, or other to provide continuity for discounts.

· Will research, develop and implement standard operating procedures for all sales and marketing functions within the different areas of the company.

· Authorizes and monitors sales information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance.

· Supervise and manage in-house NFI Certified Customer Service Technicians (3) and the Digital Marketer (1).

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIFICATIONS

 

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge

· Identify and prioritize sales and marketing opportunities and the ability to solve problems and execute policies and procedures with the management team.

· Requires basic statistical and analytical business math skills, as well as good reading, writing and spelling ability to communicate clearly and effectively in the English language on all technical and business levels
· Ability to read / understand customers in a business environment
· Ability to prospect for new accounts and expand existing accounts
· Ability to train small and large group sales people or re-train selling of our products

· Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
· Ability to understand technical installations of our products

 

Education/Training

· Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
· Gas appliance knowledge and understanding a strong plus

· Hearth Industry understanding and network
Experience

· Five years of field sales plus two years of sales management with a minimum $5M dollar volume company, preferably B2B sales to wholesalers and retailers.

· Experience as or with a manufacturers Sales Rep a plus.

· Hearth industry experience a strong plus

JOB SUMMARY:

In this dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Account Executive is responsible to support, service, and sustain the
existing dealer network; while also expanding distribution and increasing FPI’s market share. This position reports

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Exceed Sales Targets in Territory
 Achieve goals as laid out in the Corporate Scorecard
 Complete Action Plan for each dealer by end of March
 Present Regency Business Plan and Marketing Review
 Present Early Buy Program and secure Purchase and file DA (Discount Agreement) for each dealer by July
1st
 Support all Key Dealer guidelines which includes quarterly inventory, fully explaining programs and
resigning all dealers each year
 Call on all assigned accounts on a regular basis, as determined by the Sales Manager / Director
 Responsible for maintaining clean, current Regency showroom units
 Schedule and present Regency Sales Training Program to each Dealer and sales staff; update and retrain
new staff as needed
 Prospect for new accounts one full day per week or 5 cold calls per week, with results to be sent to Sales
Manager. Maintain a minimum of new dealer requirement as determined by annual compensation plan
 Set up weekend sales events with Dealers gaining focus on Regency products. All promo events must be
attended by Account Executive. A minimum of 15 weekend sales promotions is required per year, as
determined by Sales Manager / Director
 Schedule the installation of Regency products in all showrooms with Dealer’s installers. Some help may
be available from our technical staff. You should plan to do installs yourself as determined regionally
 Assist Credit department to clear up discrepancies and collect past due accounts when asked
 Maintain professionalism and act in a manner consistent with FPI mission and guiding principles
 Follow all Health & Safety programs; actively participate in Health & Safety training with the purpose of
gaining knowledge and understanding
 Contribute to a positive work environment focusing on Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
 Additional related responsibilities as may be required
