On September 20, 2011 HPBA sent out an 11-page memo to over 1,500 members requesting that companies send letters to DOE urging them to send comments to DOE in opposition to their proposed rule on Direct Heating Equipment Rulemaking. The memo (found below) also encouraged members to contact their U.S. Representative to ask them to sign on to a letter from Members of Congress to DOE Secretary Steven Chu.

About a week later, HPBA sent a letter on September 28, 2011 to DOE Sec. Chu (found below) regarding DOE's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR) entitled "Energy Conservation Program Standards for Direct Heating Equipment," published at 76 Fed. Reg. 43941 (July 22, 2011).
