The Government Affairs Academy moved from the Mid West to inside the Beltway-- Washington D.C. This move incorporated a new feature of the Academy: Congressional Hill visits. The HPBA staff not only trained attendees on how to effectively lobby at the state and federal level, but provided an opportunity to test what they've learned. By designing meetings with members of both chambers of government, the House of Representatives and the Senate, Academy attendees were able to put into practice everything they learned throughout the week long crash course.
